School Council Meetings
Here are Minutes from recent School Council Meetings 9th May 2008
The children’s school council – representatives of two councillors from each class, Head girl and Head boy, has met recently to discuss our policies on educational school visits and Homework. A précis of the points raised can be found below.
Please remember, these are children’s opinions – not necessarily changes that are appropriate for us to make, although some are very thought provoking! Many thanks for your continued interest.
Educational Visits
- Maximum charge should be £7:00
- Each class to have 3 trips a year.
- Many advantages to school trips.
- People who misbehave at school should not come on trips.
- Would like to take more trips on trains.
- Would like to listen to the radio on the bus.
- Would like a whole school trip.
- Would like longer journeys.
Homework
- Generally, some children in the younger classes didn’t want to do the homework.
- Doing homework gives the children chance to learn more.
- The work is often challenging.
- Would like alternative subjects.
- Would like games to play.
- Would like a homework club.
- Would like writing stories for homework.
- Would like awards / points for handing homework in early.
