What a pantomime!
Oh what a show the staff put on at the end of the Autumn Term! The audience were in fits of giggles at the antics of Cinderella's sisters, mother and cunning pet cat. Dancing, singing and joking galore - the staff all did a superb job of looking very silly! Who will ever forget Princess Britney's dance with Prince Alarming, the King's hilarious attempt at the Cha Cha Slide and not to mention the Fairy Godmother's stunning pink outfit?! The story traced the love affair between several of the characters.
Poor old Cinders had her heart set on wedding Prince Alarming but, thanks to the Fairy Godmother's match making, she ended up with Buttons the Footman instead!
Sir John Newland fell for the charms of Princess Britney who originally set her sights on Prince Alarming. Prince Alarming however, was distracted by the obvious charms of Cinderella's mother!
As for the ugly sisters - Hyacinth found love in the shape of the mirror and Rose fell for the glass slippers!
Not surprisingly, the Fairy Godmother bagged the King whilst Fairy Twinkle had to make do with a guest from the audience. However, the biggest surprise must have been when the cat catcher went off with the cat!
The night was a huge success. On behalf of all the adults and children who thoroughly appreciated all the hard work and goodwill which went into the production - many thanks to the terrific team of actors, costume makers, set designers and stage hands.
As they were leaving, many people were asking if the staff could do it again next year. We think we'll just wait and see...................
