Welcome to Newland St. John's C.E. Primary School.

We are a small, friendly, Church of England school with approximately 230 children on roll, which embraces the Christian ethos.  Our school is located in the north of the city of Kingston upon Hull, off the main Hull to Beverley Road (google maps link http://g.co/maps/ktbgb).   We have no catchment area and have a diverse mix of children aged between 4 and 11 who come from all over the city.

The school has strong links with the local church, St. John Newland, which is located close to the school on Clough Road.  Staff from the church take regular worship sessions and school clubs and we have termly services in church.  The church also runs a pre-school nursery for children aged 3 and 4, which is housed on the school premises and this provides a smooth transition for children moving from nursery to full-time education.

The school has recently undergone some major building works to improve the facilities and learning environment.  We have a large outside area which includes a playground, football field and wildlife area.  The wildlife area or 'haven' has been designed with the environment in mind and includes fruit trees, a willow tunnel and outside classroom.   The school also has the use of a local allotment which will be used to provide produce for the kitchen as part of our Food for Life project.  Please click on the Projects button on the left for more information about Food for Life.

We have a breakfast club run by school staff, which is free for children at the school.  This runs from 8.00 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. and provides cereal, toast and a drink.  The children also have access to games and other activities whilst at the club.  There are a number of lunchtime and after-school clubs run by school and church staff.  Please click on our clubs button on the left for more information.

Our school session times are 8.50 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.

For details of term dates please use the link to the Hull City Council website in the links page on the left.
